Fall Finds
Here are a few tops and layers that I have seen in stores lately that I think would be versatile, yet eye-catching; and have the potential to really amp up a Fall wardrobe.
Luckily, I have a pretty good idea of what is hanging in my own closet and what I need (as opposed to want) as it can be so tempting when shopping for clients to end up with something for myself. That is when shopping with a plan comes in very handy!
That being said, in the name of research, I did try on a lot of these pieces and was very pleased with each of them. So, if any speak to you, or you feel they would fill some gaps in your current wardrobe, they are definitely worth a look.

These teddy bear jackets are everywhere at the moment - they just feel so fresh and cozy. I love the length of this one...can easily be dressed up or down. I think I may have also seen it in store in pink.

Instead of adding another neutral coloured blazer are cardi to your closet, why not consider a bold colour? While this makes a statement, it can easily earn back its cost-per-wear and get some major mileage. Throw it on to dress up a t-shirt and jeans on the weekend, or wear to work or on an evening out. The more relaxed, oversize cut is current and suiting is leaning to more bolds hues. Sheepishly, I'm admitting that I saw this being worn on a stylish Y&R character recently and it looked fabulous!

Burgundy can serve as a neutral yet adds a vibrant pop of colour. Combines well with pastels, navy, grey, black, mustard (to name just a few hues) as well as a wide range of prints.

Checks are everywhere this season (yet plaid is always stylish!). This jacket works for the office, jeans and sneakers, or denim and heels. If in between sizes, opt for the larger one as a more relaxed/easy cut is the name of the game these days (as opposed to everything being so fitted). Remember the number one rule with jackets is to check the fit in your shoulders - that needs to be spot on!

Shades of pink and polka dots are both having a moment this season. I can not say enough how incredibly soft and cozy this sweater is. Can wear under a blazer for a dressier look (size up for a polished yet relaxed look) or wear with denim and sneakers on the weekend.

I try to steer away from a lot of black (in my own closet and in my recommendations), but I love the simplicity of this piece with the pop of interest in the leopard collar. Leopard is so on trend at the moment, but is also a classic so this is a piece that will serve well over time.

I love this jacket - adds polish and warmth to a look. Looks sophisticated and pulled-together (but is sweatshirt material...so comfy!). Navy is a fabulous neutral and the subtle windowpane print elevates yet combines easily with other prints. This also comes in red which would be a great statement piece that could also double as a closet staple/go-to.

This jacket gets rave reviews on line. A fabulous fall layering piece that pairs easily with jeans, but could also work over a dress. The moto style gives it a bit of edge yet the muted colour palette also gives it a hint of softness. Love!
