The Mx Chopped challenge item = floral graphic tee: this look is built around a black, gray, and pink graphic tee, embracing a monochromatic pink theme with different shades of pink ranging from muted mauve shorts, rose gold ring watch and a rose gold and black necklace, a cream with pink undertone outer layer, and pink to blue sunglasses. We complete this outfit with touches of black from the belt and simple loafers that tie back to the shirt and necklace!

The Ms Chopped challenge item - printed mini dress: this look is built around a colorful printed mini dress which includes vibrant colors like blue, green, orange, pink, white, and yellow! We decided to go for bold with this look by adding more orange and white into the outfit by layering an orange and white maxi skirt over top, and pairing white heels with some various colors stone accents, as well as a white and gold belt and orange and gold drop earrings. Touches of gold finish the look with a lariat necklace, simple stacking rings, and gold-framed pink to blue sunglasses!

The Mr Chopped challenge item = printed shorts: this look is built around colorful printed shorts, embracing the bold abstract print and pulling colors from it through the rest of the outfit! A pink linen button down matches pink shoes, and gradient pink to blue sunglasses pair well with a blue leather bracelet and a shacket for the outer layer. And all of the colors are complemented by a resin pendant on a simple black necklace.

Pack like a protagonist: They may not be typical travel or capsule necessities, but items like shoe covers can be a great option to keep your clothes clean if you pack any additional footwear in the same bag. And a toiletry organizer can fold up neatly and contain all of your bathroom necessities in one place, which you can neatly hang on the back of your door, versus digging through all the pockets of your bag to locate your shampoo bottle or makeup!

Pack like a protagonist: Whether it's for your jewelry or your tech, having an option to store and transport delicate or easily tangled items, like necklace chains or wires and cords, is important for any trip or move!

Pack like a protagonist: Packing cubes are a great way to sort by item type, or even separate outfits when you're packing for your trip, or even for a move. And some travel cubes come with a reversible option to let you know if the items inside are clean or dirty!

The mr spring to summer inspiration! These navy blue linen shorts can be great on warmer Spring days, especially like on the left side of this flatlay, when paired with a chambray button-down and a cream knit sweater. A blue and brown watch, belt, and ring accent a set of cream, blue, and brown detail sneakers. To transition it for summer weather, lose the sweater, and as seen on the right side of the flatlay, swap the long-sleeved button-up for a white linen short-sleeved button-up, and switch the sneakers for some navy blue slip-ons!

The mx spring to summer inspiration! This high-low linen tunic button-up can be worn for Spring as seen on the left side of the flatlay when paired with navy blue crossover linen pants, paisley navy and brown boots, and topped with a wide brown belt at the waist for a dramatic spring outfit. For a more casual and summery option, switch the linen pants for linen shorts as seen on the right side of the flatlay, swap the boots for leather sneakers, and layer a white undershirt beneath the tunic, wearing it unbuttoned and open for a flowy take on this tunic option!

The ms spring to summer inspiration! This floral maxi skirt can be worn as seen on the left side of the flatlay with a navy bodysuit, embroidered blazer, and blue suede boots on cool spring days. To transition it for summer weather, try wearing it like a strapless dress, and using the items on the right side of the flatlay, such as the gold wrap belt, and belting it at the waist, then pairing it with gold flats. For a little extra coverage, this off-the-shoulder denim shirt makes a cute cover-up option!

The ms fashion flatlay featuring an upcycled item - this patchwork denim blazer is a great example of combining casual and professional with not only the style but the material itself! To dress this look up, pairing it with a blue and white floral strapless dress, blue and white floral heels, and gold and white accent jewelry (including a Star Wars shoutout with the details on the purse!) is a fun way to showcase upcycled fashion in a polished fit!

The mr fashion flatlay featuring an upcycled item - this mixed materials fleece combines the comfort of a sweater with a bold stripe of floral print running from the shoulder to the bottom. Embracing some of those floral details can make your outfit more interesting, so a pair of floral print sneakers, and other green, brown, and muted red accents like the woven belt, or green and brown watch, unique resin ring, or even some subtle green sunglasses or a shoulder bag are all ways to embrace this intersting upcycled outerlayer and create an outfit inspired by it!

The mx fashion flatlay featuring an upcycled item - this pair of patchwork sweatpants is great inspiration for just how cool and put together an outfit can still be when using a patchwork item. Focusing on a monochrome theme and mixing the patchwork print with a striped blazer creates an edgy but casual look!

May 2025

The mx fashion flatlay creates a feeling of magic and mystery, but can still be made modern for a Renaissance Faire to Day Wear look using brown linen dress pants and vest with an oversized white Darcy blouse and loafers. Details like a thick waist belt, gold-framed glasses, and astronomy-inspired earrings allude to studying maps and tomes by candlelight - or perhaps reading fantasy books with a cup of tea on the couch!

The mr fashion flatlay takes this Renaissance Faire look to a Day Wear outfit by using pieces like coated black denim jeans, buckled boots, and a gothic red button-up shirt with detailed sleeves akin to bracers. Elements like a hooded leather jacket, crossbody sling, and some silver accessories add touches of modernism for a mix of eras!

The ms fashion flatlay is the epitome of whimsy and elegance! A sky blue peasant blouse paired with a blue and pink floral skirt (with pockets) and a cream corset belt creates a lovely Renaissance Faire look. Adding a cream and floral blazer over top, some blue and silver accessories, camel loafer heels, and a handy cream and translucent backpack mixes the modern with the magic for an easy adjustment to take this look from Ren Faire to Day Wear!

The Mx flatlay quick transformation - use the printed button up as your base item and pair with slacks and a belt for a more masc look, or a maxi dress and layered necklace for a more femme feel

The Ms quick transformation - use the red bodysuit as your base layer - for a more casual outfit, pair with jeans. For a more dressy look, pair with a printed skirt. Both look great with a red heel, white blazer, and gold accessories!

This mr flatlay is inspired by the Matriarch Archetype of "Regal Queen" - the look embraces drama with a touch of mystery with fitted black suiting and gold details. Some realm-ruling accents like a corset-inspired vest with gold brocade, gold collar pins, floral embossed boots, and an umbrella with a dragon head handle (in case you feel like embracing your "mother of dragons" energy on rainy days).

This mx flatlay is inspired by the Matriarch Archetype of "Punk Protector" - embodying some of the main characters who are willing to throw hands for those they love, this outfit is heavily inspired by Sarah Connor's look. Details like black aviators, boots, and fingerless gloves feel effortlessly cool, while black pants with safety pin detailing and a layered cord and silver necklace add touches of classic punk styling. Some utilitarian items like a utility jacket and matching bag make this outfit travel-ready for any badass on the go!

This ms flatlay is inspired by the Matriarch Archetype "Cozy Caretaker" - embodying the soft and comforting energy of a mom making your favorite meal, what better way to show your love of baking than with a butter purse?! Or for the green thumbs and flourishing floral tenders, details like pressed flower earrings, a bouquet pendant, or a floral print corset top are lovely accents to add in. This sweet look is made all the better with a cozy cardigan blouse, and button front skirt with great pockets for all the goodies we need help carrying! And pair of fashionable but functional tan loafers completes this whimsical outfit!

The mx Star Wars flatlay this week is inspired by a classic character type in the world - the Stormtrooper! Just say things like, "We don't need to see his identification," and everyone will know right away who you're embodying! One of the easier looks to recreate, as it focuses on a black and white color scheme, you can still get creative by adding fun details like the Imperial insignia or something unique like a stormtrooper ring.

The mr Star Wars flatlay this week is inspired by smooth talker, Lando Calrissian, known for quotes like, “Yeah, I’m responsible these days. It’s the price you pay for being successful.” This professional inspired take of Lando's outfit pulls his color scheme of blue and black together with a touch of gold, but instead of gold lining on his cape, we're adding the pop of color with a cardigan and draping a navy blue raincoat over the top of the entire look. A wide waist belt adds a point of interest that is more similar to the actual costume, but you can always trade that out for a black leather belt paired with the dress pants if you prefer a simpler look.

The ms Star Wars flatlay this week is inspired by the character, Rey. This jumpsuit is already based on Rey's outfit, so by adding a cream colored cowl and other neutral color accents, you can create more interest in your outfit. Simple accents like the gold Jedi Order symbol on a necklace are a fun touch for this particular character and a shout-out to the Star Wars fandom!

The ms fashion flatlay inspired by a fantasy scholar world, embraces the outfit of a whimsical alchemist. Following a natural color palette of greens, brown, and creams, details like floral embroidery on the overdress add feminine elements without taking away from the studious inspiration. Accent details such as a magical-looking green ring, bronze celestial-inspired earrings, and a curious pin bring some backstory to this outfit. Don't forget your belted hip pouch to keep important documents or crafting components close by during long nights of research!

The mr fashion flatlay inspired by a fantasy scholar world embodies a professional and proper academic. A blue and brown color palette with natural fiber textures gives a feeling of comfort while remaining put together with fitted elements such as a fitted vest, paisley print ascot, and floral embossed oxfords. Small details like a bronze pocket watch, leather satchel, and lion head handle umbrella add an air of aristocracy to this suave scholarly look.

The mx fashion flatlay inspired by the fantasy scholar world. The sharp contrast of black and white with gold details makes this a simple but elegant statement. Gold rimmed glasses, constellation earrings, and unique items like antique style collar pins and a black and gold satchel help you to embody a focused academic.

The ms floral flatlay embraces badass details by combining the elegant and flowy floral print strapless dress with a fitted black and white blazer, black corset belt, and red high heels to match red drop earrings in the shape of flowers. Some touches of gold accessories like the rose ring, and detail on the black ring pull the gold detail on the rose print and black purse all together with a simple but elegant black watch.

The mr floral flatlay breaks away from floral basics with a deep color scheme, and gold rose-shaped collar pins to accent the rose print button down. This look mixes deep shades of green, brown, and touches of burgundy for moody and mysterious floral fashion!

The mx floral flatlay shows you can make a statement with a bold monochrome look! It incorporates a black on black floral print button-down with black jeans, a black and white floral print jacket, and white platform shoes with black floral detailing. Silver accent pieces like a layered necklace, geometric rose earrings, a statement rose ring, and a black and white watch complement the black belt with dual silver buckles.

The ms fashion flatlay - a great Spring upgrade is replacing your raincoat with one from Rain Sisters in a style that fits so well and is so cute, other folks might mistake it for a dress when you wear it!

The mr fashion flatlay - If you want to upgrade your hoodie, why not replace it with a leather jacket that has the hood attached for a better fit and a more structured outer layer that still has the prime feature of your favorite hoodie?

The mx fashion flatlay - inspired by upgrading your accessories with fun new or new-to-you pieces like your jewelry, your shoes, or you could even boost your bag game as a way to share about your favorite fandom and accessory daily!

The Mr fashion flatlay is inspired by stormy weather - for the debonair man who needs a water resistant look while still feeling fashionable, a sleek rain coat and waterproof boots can be paired with wool or linen trousers, which hold up well in wicking water. Add some accents like a waterproof bag, a water resistant watch, and a walking cane/umbrella all in one to complete this professional but still cool look!

The Ms fashion flatlay is inspired by stormy weather - with one part rainfall and one part 90s throwback, this outfit embraces transparent details like a clear raincoat, umbrella, purse, and even heels! Paired with a beaded dress worn beneath the coat, you'll think of rain falling down your window, and adding some unique accessories like an aquamarine ring the color of a cloudy day alongside some rain drop earrings will especially embody stormy weather! Adding details like a black corset belt helps pull this look together with the black detailing on the heels, the black of the watch face, and the black umbrella handle for a cohesive monochromatic outfit that embodies stylish April showers!

The mx fashion flatlay is inspired by stormy weather and the Renaissance Faire! Fear not, my adventurous friend; you can still look stylish while also being prepared for the storm with some key clothing items that also look great together! Opt for wool fabric to help stay warm and dry, or linen as a natural option that stays on theme but still works for gloomy skys. If you can find a waxed cloak, all the better, but they may not be as easy to come by. A pair of water proof boots (and wool socks) are important to keep your feet dry, and for a more modern approach, don't forget that you can find some unique options like a stylish umbrella that doubles as a walking cane and can work well for that secret noble on a quest who really just doesn't want to worry about getting wet!

Storage tips: get rid of the broken or bent hangers in your closet and replace them with wood or velvet lined hangers! Depending on your wardrobe needs, look into purchasing a shirt (no bar across the bottom), suit (bar across the bottom), or pants/skirt (bar shaped with clips on the bottom) hangers for your items. As you wear things, flip the hanger in the opposite direction so by the end of the season you can see how many things you actually wore at a glance!

Storage tips: Store your off season items in your luggage if it's not being used frequently - a great way to save space and keep everything organized in an easy to grab spot should you suddenly need it (especially for last minute trips to a location with a different climate than where you are currently)!

Storage tips: use vertical space with hanging shelves, or over the door shoe racks! You can also store off-season clothing in plastic containers so you can see what is inside, and stack them by season!

Bloom With Style

Examples of floral fashion styling tips and inspiration from our “Bloom with Style” floral fashion workshop!

Try a monochrome outfit! Reminder, you can create a monochrome look with a color, not just black or gray! For example this look uses light to dark blue tones throughout in addition to the light and dark blue floral prints.

Dress your outfit up with subtle floral brocade and sparkly gold details like the pairing of this suit and sleeveless blouse! To make it feel a bit more "casual", we've paired gold sparkly sneakers with it.

Learning how to embrace florals? Start with one focal point for your outfit and balance the rest with neutrals, like this floral print green skirt which we matched with neutral blouse, jacket, and heels, as well as gold jewelry to compliment the warm tones.

A fun way to play with florals is to mix line work, like this black and white blouse, with a full floral print, like these black pants with white and red roses. Pull the color through the look by adding red accessories, like rose petal earrings, and a red pump!

Learning to embrace florals? Start with just floral accents/small details on your clothing. This sweater with floral sleeves introduces a bit of floral print subtly. And if you add the jacket, you'd never even know you're wearing florals because the bodice of the sweater is solid! You could even focus on just floral jewelry or a floral shoe if adding it to your clothes feels like a challenge.

Love different types of florals but can't decide? Try mixing print sizes and styles together! For example, these shorts have a small but full and bold floral print and the blouse has a more sparse and delicate floral print. They use similar colors, so it's easy to match them together in the same outfit!

If the color is too intimidating, try playing with floral textures or abstract prints in neutral tones. This black and white abstract floral dress is even more dynamic when paired with a black floral lace blazer over top!

Want to start mixing florals? Start by choosing a similar theme - whether that's the same color, or even type of flower, for consistency through your outfit. This pink skirt has a subtle embossed floral print and compliments the pinks of the larger floral print blouse it's paired with!

A great option for leaning into your love of florals is to pair big prints with small prints in your outfit! Both this top and skirt use similar colors on white backgrounds, but the scale of flowers differs between them making it easier for the eye to take in the entire outfit instead of fighting for where to look!

February 2025

The mx fashion flatlay features a "power accessory" of a printed scarf, this particular print reminiscent of storybook illustrations with some whimsical strawberries and leaves. Inspired by that color palette, we pulled the greens and brown through the rest of the outfit with a touch of coziness in the beanie and sweater, and an added touch of whimsy with strawberry earrings.

The mr fashion flatlay features a "power accessory" of layering leather necklaces of different lengths and the look of layered bracelets. This texture is included in the shoe and belt choice, and the browns in this abstract print sweater also incorporate a range of natural neutrals.

The ms fashion flatlay features the "power accessory" of gothic cathedral-inspired statement earrings and a statement ring in silver. With these being the focal points, we chose a simple black turtleneck and skirt paired with a white blazer and matching purse, and pulled more gothic theme into the look with a black buckled waist belt, black watch, and black ankle boots with silver buckle accent on the toe. A white purse completes the outfit and pulls the black-and white-look all together.
