For this edit, I have largely focused on higher quality garments which, when they're right for you, will become your classics. Classics are those items you return to over and over again. Perhaps it's a great pair of jeans. Or maybe a jacket worn as your third piece. Or consider a leather belt or gloves that you'll wear year after year.

Higher quality basics, cashmere rather than a poly/wool mix, are also worth buying on sale.
