MANGO- this is more for learning than fashion. Pound-for-pound if you want to create a closet of wearable staples for the next 3 seasons, head to Mango to get your items. This season they've nailed the basics - right materials, right fit, right colors, small details. This shirt is a cool color, has a puff sleeve that is the minimal and sits on the INSIDE of the shoulder, and hits at exactly the right point to avoid bunching. Simple but masterfully done...

AMAZON- this sells out every season and at $47, I understand why! It may start pilling relatively quickly but you can make it through the season just grab a fabric shaver

RUTI- an American Israeli designer with a new collection. What makes this awesome are the warm fall colors that include, brown camel, navy, and black which means it will go with EVERYTHING!

BIAAF- a fashion collective of emerging designers for fashion schools all over the world. This one is pricey but it looks like pure luxury in the middle of winter!

WOLF & BADGER- an awesome site for chic, individualist pieces. The can go to work when not draped and then go after hours showing a little shoulder

MANGO- I believe in the power of great basics (and awesome accessories). This simple cream cardigan comes in sizes XXS-XXL and has beautiful, almost imperceptible seaming detail. Plus it’s ever so slightly cropped so there’s no bunching even if you have booty…winning!

UNIVERSAL STANDARD- this is a great basic and since it’s Universal Standard, everyone gets one! They have THE most inclusive sizing running from XXS-XXXL!

MES DEMOISELLES- only one left but this is so Missoni… everything that’s awesome about the nude/camel color palette. And it’s on sale!

MADE IN TOMBOY- color, style, quality, feel everything says this is a long-term keeper. Slightly oversized but can go from Friday casual to travel to weekend at the cabin

ANTHROPOLOGIE- this one goes to XL and has great colors for fall and winter (and doesn’t have excess fabric!)

ALL SAINTS- the best kept secret to doing “oversized” sweaters right is to make them just long enough but they shouldn’t be overly wide. The result is you look lost or it adds unnecessary weight to your frame. This one is simple and can double as outerwear for fall

GOOD AMERICAN- a great plus size find because it reads sleek but doesn’t gather at the waist which creates a nice finish and gatherings or looking frumpy!

THE ROW- 100% quiet luxury but first, a quick lesson: sweater vest, gilet, and sleeveless sweater are + or - the same thing! These are ideal for those who are hot one minute and then cold the next - throughout the day. Start with one basic and it doesn’t have to be The Row (that’s some people’s mortgage) but make sure it’s fitted and the shoulder doesn’t extend beyond your natural shoulder

LINGUA FRANCA- they’re the ones who do the custom writing. It’s what you and your daughters/mother buy together and get something meaningful written on it!

LINGUA FRANCA- tons of color, not too long, nice fit. You’ll have it for years and wear it with everything you find…some things are just like that. This is one!

AJE- it’s one you’ll appreciate for years to come! Simple, easy colors but just better-than-average that you’ll always get a compliment. For sweata weatha, just one maybe two statement sweaters is plenty

ISABEL MARANT- yep, it’s a strapless sweater. You can wear it by itself (I wouldn’t because I have trust issues) but over a button down gives your outfit an edgier, more modern look.

NAADAM- this is cool…makes you do a double-take. It’s casual but can definitely work for most offices especially if it’s casual or you’re not doing serious client-facing work that day

ZARA- every professional that is being forced into the office should own at least one sweater blazer. It says I want to do business but don’t want to die for it… this dresses up your fitted tee so you can do your meetings

ZARA- in the hunt for something “different” don’t let ANYONE convince you that you must have a fair isle or padded shoulder sweater…they’re lying! This one looks regular but has metallic thread so if you paired it with some shimmery bottom, it would be ready for evening drinks! So simple but so chic…

ZARA- you will find it surprisingly difficult to find awesome sweaters this season without paying a token because designers are going ‘back to basics’ so let’s focus on just ONE statement sweater for this season. This is a little different because of the asymmetric snaps. It’s casual but it’s wearable to some offices (the entire business world is basically casual now…)

ANN MASHBURN- this is almost so preppy it hurts but it’s also perfect for layering! Counterintuitive, the sleeveless sweater has its place…with everything long sleeve! It’s meant to be not be fitted so rock with it, or skip it

COS STORES- these used to be “tissue thin”, almost see through until they updated the material to all wool and now they re just the right amount of thickness. EvERYONE needs at least one turtleneck for cold weather that is fitted- it is the answer to looking sleek and pulled together without even trying. The raw edge keeps these relaxed but you’ll thank me later…guaranteed (tips accepted)

THE FRANKIE SHOP- I couldn’t for the longest time figure out why they made this sweater with SUCH long sleeves until I scrunched them up…it just looks better (if more casual and effortlessly disheveled is what you’re going for). The fabric is divine, is very hard to wrinkle, and looks great tucked into some pleated trousers. Very runway…

NAADAM- this is the original cashmere sweater that was $75 but is now $98. Still a steal because their cashmere is phenomenal but the supply is limited. This is one of those sweaters you buy and can throw on under a blazer, wear buy itself for weekends, pack for travel as a layering piece, and you can’t go wrong. A no-brainer! Buy a neutral and a bright!

RAG & BONE- this is a wear-solo kinda deal but because of the contrast stitching you actually don’t want to wear anything on top, right? It’s slightly oversized so it’s definitely for weekend/travel
