Transition to Summer
Summer is approaching - let's get wardrobe ready!
Here's some ideas to start the transition:
1) Lighten up the denim
It's time to swap darker denim for lighter options such as: faded, distressed or white.
2) Cropped pants, shorts and skirts
When it comes to baring your legs, there are options for everyone. I am loving the wider leg crops, midi skirts and paper-bag inspired shorts prevalent this season.
3) Dresses, jumpsuits and rompers - one and done!
Summer is synonymous wth simplicity. And nothing is more simple than pulling out these garments that basically constitute a complete outfit - just add footwear and accessories of choice and you are good to go!
4) Light layers
Layers are important year-round, but it's important not to forget about them as the temperatures rise as we often find ourselves popping in and out of air conditioned environments. Layers also come in handy if we need to cover-up to protect from the sun on a sweltering day. I love having one that I can tuck in my bag to have at the ready.
5) Comfortable, yet stylish warmer weather footwear
Summer is a time when we are often out wandering. A stylish sneaker and neutral sandals are timeless staples. It's also fun to play around with some trending styles...block heels, mules or espadrilles are very prevalent this season.
I've rounded up some garments that caught my eye and put together this catalog for inspiration. Or, for you to shop if something also catches your eye!
Remember, before making a purchase, it's always best to shop your own closet first as you may have forgotten about pieces you haven't worn in a year!
I'd love to know what works for you as you transition into summer, as well as your favourite summer pieces!
