Shorts Roundup

Shorts can be a summer wardrobe staple, but can also spark debate (and uncertainty) when it comes to women’s fashion. For many they are a wardrobe essential. Versatile and functional, the right pair of shorts can seamlessly transition from neighbourhood strolls, restaurants —and even into office settings, depending on your work environment. When selecting a pair, opt for styles that skim the thighs rather than cling to them. Not only can this be pleasing visually, but also for ease of movement and comfort!

Currently, longer, relaxed-fit shorts with clean finishes (no distressing) are trending. Think Bermuda lengths, cotton poplin boxer styles, and A-line denim shorts—all of which offer a polished, modern silhouette that fits effortlessly into a well-rounded summer wardrobe.

I've put together some shorts looks here with a focus on styling rather than just wearing the clothes. Whether or not you plan to wear shorts this summer, these styling tips work just as easily for outfits consisting of: skirts, wide leg pants, culottes, denim, or dresses.

And, added bonus inspiration if you plan to style up some shorts this warm weather season.

If shorts are not for you, I completely understand - I don't think I really wore shorts as an adult until my mid forties as I never loved showing much of my legs. I wish I could tell my younger self to get over that insecurity as now I have a couple of pairs of shorts I really enjoy wearing each summer.
