Stylist-Approved Basics

After years of styling closets (and plenty of my own trial-and-error), there are three brands I consistently come back to when clients ask for good basics: SPANX, Kettlewell, and Gap.

SPANX
No, they’re not just shapewear. SPANX makes some of my go-to elevated basics and matching sets, and the buttery soft feeling is truly unmatched. Pro tip: if you grab one of these pieces (or multiple 😉) be sure to turn them inside out when washing and drying … it preserves the softness and durability of the fabric.

Kettlewell
This brand allows you to filter by color season, which is AMAZING if you've done a Color Transformation with me. Fun fact: they're based in the UK, and let me tell you, we think we know quality here in the US... but Kettlewell is on another level. Yes, shipping takes a bit longer since they're overseas, but these pieces last for years. Totally worth the wait.

Gap
A classic and more-affordable brand that is underrated and reliable.  Gap is my fallback for easy tees, knits, and everyday layers. Truly can't go wrong here!
