Travel Essentials
With Spring Break on the horizon, for many that means a trip to get excited about. While a vacation is something to look forward to and create memories, it is often the time leading up to a trip that can leave us feeling frazzled and even burnt out before takeoff. In this guide you'll find fully styled travel looks, perfect for feeling fashionable while in flight, reliable luggage sets at all price points to keep your belongings secure, and stylist tips to make packing a breeze.
Here are a few stylist best practices when packing for your next trip:
1. Try it on before you pack it. Sometimes an outfit works in our head but not in reality. Trying it on beforehand ensure that you will love how it feels when in your destination. This is also key for resort wear you might not have worn in a few months. Trying it on before hand will ensure it still fits well and you feel good in it.
2. Pack in a color scheme and eliminate one off items. If you're packing a pair of shoes to pair with only one look, consider leaving that look behind to maximize luggage space. Choosing a color scheme will help to not overpack and will ensure your items can be worn in multiple ways. A neutral or metallic shoe is a smart add to a trip.
3. Be realistic and minimize the 'what ifs'. If you don't workout at home, you likely won't on vacation. The same goes for items that you don't love when you put them on at home.
4. Write down your itinerary and pack accordingly. Assigning looks to specific days and activities will help to not overpack and eliminate decision fatigue when at your destination. This will also help with bullet #3 above.
5. Check the weather to ensure you're packing appropriately. Its not enough to know you're headed to a tropical destination, cold spells happen and you want to be prepared.
6. Consider using packing cubes or pack your suitcase in sections if your trip has multiple destinations. This will help to keep your suitcase organized and will make getting dressed at your destination easy.
