The good

Great dress; the outfit needs some definition or contrast - maybe just a red lip, anything to let us know where the head ends and the haute couture starts

What's not to love about this pathologically inoffensive Celine gown? Well as you're asking - the rucked up lining is bothering me a tad . A polished refined look - great hair, great accessories. Ms Gomez may even be starting a new trend in which you match your earrings to your nail varnish. We watch and wait.

This look is almost perfect were it not for the incongruous belt. Rich fabric and colour, some sparkle, great hair , it all comes together beautifully but for that terrible belt. Close but no cigar

Natalie Zea looking ethereal . The colour of this dress risks it looking too understated for the event but the fishtail train saves the day. A touch of sparkle on the wrist and a more interesting bag would have taken this whole look just that tad further

This unnamed guest of Lee Jung - Jae (he of the unwatchable Squid Game fame) epitomizes understated elegance. The addition of the magnificently intricate and delicate collar necklace is perfect, elevating this otherwise simple long shift. I'm missing just a hint of jewellery which seems to be a theme this year. Maybe I just missed the memo

This is close to perfection. A wonderful dress, a tad larger than life as befits the occasion but not in a crazy way. I'm not loving the 'Hausfrau circa 1940' hairstyle but the dress gets a big thumbs up.

Classic sheath - the oversized keyhole being the element that takes this from dress to gown and makes it red carpet worthy. Keeping it classy with a shiny bob and understated jewellery

Wonderfully elegant silhouette but the undone hair is a let down in every sense of the word.

Loved this but it would have been made perfect by just a bit more 'lift and coverage'. Cleavage is fine but it does need to be in the right place

Amanda Seyfried looking regal. The whisper of hardly there net rising up from the bodice is elegantly softening, Great job Armani!

The gravity defying plunge neckline to this dress is one of the elements that puts this look firmly in the red carpet zone. It is hard to imagine this dress would work anywhere else

For me this would have been a 10 if the boned corset had not been transparent - something about the many different fabrics in such close proximity -but lets not nit-pick. Elegant, great fit. Polished hair and make up, but give me a bit of bling guys!

A stunning sculptural creation of a dress enhanced by the simplicity of the accessories and the overall neatness and polish of Sarah Niles' look. Perfect for the occasion in every respect

Great dress but with so much dress and so much pattern we really need that hair up and out of the way to elevate this look into something worthy of an international star studded event. This way its all a bit of a visual mess

Elegant, a fab shape and fit with lots of décolletage on view, carried off to perfection. Its not super RC but it is a lovely look and its special enough to pass

Although this look has been around RC affairs since Hollywood shot its first frame it is still breathtakingly wonderful done right. So it might be safe but its nothing less than fantastic. Valentino and Bulgari. Perfection. And the dress had POCKETS! Gotta love a gown with pockets

the bad

Classic stuff from the house of Jean Paul Gaultier complete with exaggerated hip padding and the forever Madonna whirling cone bra. Great hair, great sultry make up this look isn’t bad per se, its just not appropriate for this event

Growing up there was a knitted caddy in our toilet that held the spare toilet roll. Disconcertingly reminiscent

I am not sure yellow ever works as an elegant event colour. Actually I am sure it doesn't, I was just being polite. This dress might have stood a chance if it had been ankle length at the front. As is , its just plain wrong. Brave colour combi with the shoes though so lets give it one point for that

More yellow. Still doesnt work

Seems even Dolce & Gabbana can have an off day. There is nothing to recommend this dress. Kaley Cuoco looks as though she should be atop a child's jewellery box, one where the figurine turns to an exert of Swan Lake when you open the lid. Even if your Style Personality is full Romantic, this dress just doesn't work. Its a cupcake on legs.

Remember Baby Doll nighties, circa 1965? That!

Fully pleated dresses are not an easy wear. Here the rounded hem is fighting with the straight lines of the pleat whilst the puffed sleeve is engaged in its own personal battle with the 'off the shoulder' neckline. But the biggest crime - nowhere near enough thought or effort was given to the foundationwear.

I love Melanie Lynskey - if she were my friend I would tell her to sue. Or at the very least get another stylist. Great hair and neckwear - at least that!

Style IS fit. Fit IS style. And this doesn't. Aniello is a recently new mum and event dressing, any dressing, if you are feeding/post partum can be challenging but this dress looks unfinished, uncomfortable and does its talented wearer absolutely no favours.

This so nearly could have been right. Fab from the waist down but the top of the dress is just a mish mash of styles, none of which bear any relation to the bottom. The shoes are wrong - not elegant enough - and there are way too many accessories.

Too much frock , too little human. This dress totally overwhelms, the fabric /pattern is too rich and there is just way too much of it. Significantly less sleeve would have given Lisa Ann Walter a fighting chance of being seen. As it is this looks like a set of walking drapes.

I can only assume this look was put together as an homage to Michael Keaton - Birdman meets Batman. There can be no other excuse.

The incomprehensible

If this is a statement outfit what exactly is the statement? "Love me , love my nipples and pants"? I just don't see the point of this. And you are not going to win me over by sticking a flower in your cleavage.

More nipples and pants.

Yellow again, still doesn't work. It is hard to imagine an occasion when this look - Circus Ringmaster meets Big Bird - would work. No jewellery and swimming pool hair - none of this is making me happy.

Really! Really!!!!!!??????? I mean seriously, WTF................... There could be a good shoe in there, hell, there could be all manner of things in there?

If the germ of this outfit was inspired, the execution is appalling. Nothing fits, nothing works. . Or could she be wearing the Toile? Struggling for any other explanation!
